It's official! I'm old! No longer do I have the desire to work my way down town for Saint Patrick's day. I don't want to deal with the crowds of drunken military and college types. No more will I pay too much money for poor quality corned beef and poorly poured guiness! No more will I get into drunken arguements with family tree sales people regaurding why my family badge should be placed on my wall rather than be inked into my back! Instead I'm putting the good old cooking skills to the test by whipping up all the traditional dishes that my family used to prepare in celebration in this holiday. So yeah, party for me!
I'm also over joyed to have found a place to purchase resin on island! At long last I can bring the vision of my sparklies and pretty pretty's into reality! For those of you I have promised creations fear not! I simply wanted to wait until I could make them a little more durable and scratch resistant.
Once again my great dane's greatness is only exceeded by her mystery. One day while my back was turned she managed to turn her dog collar into a bit and chew it off herself. I'm beginning to wonder if investing in dog toys is worth while and should just submit to letting her toy with belonging that hold little meaning to myself. Though the day is soon near for her to be able to tackle me and her little paw swats have now developed into bitch slaps. That's right people I have been bitch slapped by a puppy....a very humbling moment in my life.
In other news I decided to check out the movie 300. Despite the fact that a false fire alarm pulled us from our seats at the last crucial moment of the film and they began to play the film again before we returned to the theater (missing said crucial moment!) it proves to be a rather visually appealing film (though losely acurate). I only hope that for those who see the movie that some will be inspired to read about the actual events and people of which were the inspiration to the film. It makes me so sad to think of those who have taken the history Hollywood choses to portray at face value. I'm completely accepting of the fact that history is written by the victors but twisting it simply put is a bull shit way to tell these tales.
Any who, I hope that all of you enjoy the many Saint Patrick's Day celebrations to be had! I'll raise my glass to you all!
