I was taking some pics of my new place for my folks and i ended up taking this one... my drug is books, feed my knowledge and wistful stories, and you will a very happy man of me make
hmm to list some of my favourites:
anything by Jeffrey Archer that man is a literary genius. I can read Cane & Abel again and again and again finding little nuances that i missed
Clive Cussler and Jack Higgins for when you want to just immerse yourself in something
and then there are books that provoke thought -
iWoz by Steven Wozniak, the other Steve and the technical brains behind apple
Call Me Ted - Ted Turner the founder of CNN ("i have made billions and have lost billions, but don't you worry about me I'm learning to survive on a couple of hundred million")
The Power of One by Bryce Courtney, this book has inspiration in shovels full, i just wish the ending was slightly different
Bad Mad & Dangerous to Know Sir Ranulph Fiennes life story. what an amazing man. Was kicked out of the SAS nuff said.
Matthew Pinsett and Sir Steve Redgrave these guys need to be mentioned in the same breath, simply superb - multiple olympians and a showcases of determination. Famous last words 'If you find me in a boat again, shoot me' before Redgrave went onto win yet another gold medal
Soldier Colin Powell at one time the most trusted man in america, above the president... remarkable
Einstein married his cousin
Texas, Alaska and the Covenant by James A. Mitchener guides people through the history of a land. The Covenant is about South Africa, and made me understand how all the races , and sects(?) within SA became so distrustful of each other.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman - he musta been smoking some goooood stuff when he wrote this one!
Rudolf Nureyev Soviet ballet dancer that defected to the west. artist per excellence.
hmm thats me for now i reckon
