A new study from Brigham Young University finds that meanness in girls can begin when they are still toddlers, including the use of very grown-up psychological techniques, such as manipulation and peer pressure, to get what they want. They've even figured out how to use threats to get their own way, such as withdrawing their friendship. "It could range from leaving someone out to telling their friends not to play with someone to saying, 'I'm not going to invite you to my birthday party,'" co-study author and BYU professor Craig Hart told The Associated Press. "Some kids are really adept at being mean and nasty."
