Here it is...the moment you've all been waiting for...My end of the year blog...
Ok so you guys havent been waiting for it..but it feels good to get it all written down and out of the way before the new years rolls around.
Jan 2006, The year started off with a bang...litterally. I was in Iraq, and mortars were striking the base where we were at. It was cold and rainy and because of the rain, Mud reigned king supreme. Pretty lame. Did you know it snows in Iraq? I didnt either. But it does im living proof.
Feb Everything was coming to an end...my year tour in iraq, the coldness, the wetness, the mudness. 3 days into february is my b-day. Another lonely b-day heightened by the fact i was millions of miles from home. the day after my birthday i got more bad news. My Great grandma passed away at the age of 89. She was everything you could have ever asked for in a grandmother. She cooked, painted, did arts and crafts, was stubborn up to the last breath. (she convinced the doctors to let her go home after the initial stroke!) RIP Grandma Ruby. I made it home from Iraq with enough time to see her ashes spread over the ocean just as she requested.
March Getting back from Iraq and still in the army >< Colorado springs was cold too...unfortunately but march was a nonetheless boring month.
April Vacation from the army...FREE LEAVE!! WORST 2 WEEKS OF MY LIFE. I get home to my mothers house april 6th at 1 in the afternoon take a nap wake up at 7 and go to the bowling alley to meet my friends...im there 5 MINUTES and my mom calls hysterical! Her husband (my step-dad) collapsed and wasnt breathing. I arrive back at her house the ambulance is already there. 2 hours later he is pronounced dead. My mom hasnt been the same since. Grief counseling doesnt help. I cant help. Another great person gone from my life.
May = boring month... a lot of army hoopla...getting out of the army is pretty complicated
June 1st Im FINALLY OUT! Ive waited 6 long years for this! Now what? Girlfriend? sure! I realy did like Aimee...but i moved and long distance crap sucks...was fine for a few months though. I just went home to cali and went to sleep...got a job working for my mom's friends putting in screen doors and screens for windows...plus i was still collecting unemployment so i was pretty well off.
July - Only fun thing that happened was lighting the field on fire on the 4th of july...who knew tumbleweeds and bottlerockets dont mix?
August - September - More work no play makes me a dull boy
Sept 27th School started got to drive cross country from California the week before. was fun. School is awesome EXPENSIVE AND hard but awesome nontheless.
October - G/f Broke up with me...im not good enough for her...she was in colorado ive been all over the country...she trusted me. but she didnt trust herself...(does that mean she was gunna go sleeping around with other guys? I dont know...also dont care!)
November - Thanksgiving! Guitar Hero! FFXII!!! NICE!
December - PS2 broke no more guitar hero oR FFXII...so lame...but now that i have christmas money i can buy a new one...
Anyways theres a lowdown of my year...love it or hate it...I dont care...it was my year and i felt like i need to get it down and out there so it will be off my chest when i start another wonderful year ><
I leave you with this wonder from the 80's....
And a lil wish that my year is as awesome as this picture....condoms, coffee and candy....
