MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.
As an atheist I'd like to point out that many of us don't mind using the term Christmas. Christmas is unique to all of us I imagine as we all have different family and friends, different traditions and different beliefs. Christmas for me is going to the beach to watch hundreds (almost 1000) people go in the sea for charity. The Porthcawl Christmas Morning Swim was started 45 years ago by a few people, including my grandfather. He used to go in the sea every day, Christmas was no different. People passing would assume it was some sort of stunt or crazy charity idea so then the idea of sponsorship for local charity was dreamt up. Take a look at the site that I run here:
CHRISTMAS MORNING SWIM
Here are some photos:
Our Whiskey Wagon that gives swimmers a dash of whiskey to warm their bones.
My sister after coming out of the sea. Her Australian towel is down to the fact that she now lives in Aus and is here for a Christmas visit.
My nieces Maisie and Leila. Maisie is a Christmas fairy and Leila is Peppa the pig.
I had a few bulk text messages from various people wishing me happy Christmas but today I'm going to go text/phone the few people I really admire or respect or just get on with personally to let them know I genuinely want them to have (had) a good Christmas and for 2010 to be good.
