*update*
(copied from my recent dA journal update, cuz I'm too lazy to manage 3 blogs)
So ok, artwork has been a bit sporadic the last few weeks. I had a really great little sketch on a post-it note that I wanted to work up into something nice and finished, and then, like odd magic, the note vanished from my computer desk. I still haven't found it.
I picked up a couple great books in the last few weeks that I really really enjoyed. First off is "Pride of Baghdad" written by Brian Vaughan and illustrated by Niko Henrichon. The story in this one is so beautiful and really full of emotion considering how brief the actual story is. It really draws you in. Of course the breathtaking artwork helps a lot with that effect.
Another one I really enjoyed is "King City" by Brandon Graham. The story and artwork in this one are just so stylish and cool. I really need to track down some more stuff by him.
I'm super anxious for Ross Campbell's new stuff to come out, it just sucks because his Jinx (I think thats the name of the new DC imprint) title doesn't hit until like October, and I have no idea when Wet Moon 3 is going to be out. Ah well, it will be well worth the wait.
I've been kicking around some new story ideas in my doodles at work. I came up with an opening concept today that I really like, I'm going to try it out tomorrow on my day off (yippee!) and see if I can get it to go anywhere.
I'm also hoping to get some more SG fanart done in the future. I've always wanted to do some, and I honestly don't know why I've waited so long to start. Better late than never, eh?
In real life, everything is rocketing towards the wedding. I'll be moving to a bigger apartment next weekend. Its odd, this nice little place was just starting to feel like home, and now its time to depart. Change is good though, right? Right.
Ummmmm.. that's all I've got for now. Time to do some artwork.. or maybe search for that lost post-it...

For all those who don't frequent the FanArt group here on SG, I did a little portrait of the lovely Soren, from her latest set.

I'm planning on doing some more, and I think I'll be doing the others in color, trying to make them look a little bit more finished/proffesional.
I hope all my friends are having a lovely week.
