Friday.
Got hit by a car.
Im pretty ok with this....its not like its the first time that its happend...and i wasent hurt. But really...if you dont like the music im listening too, just tell me. No need to drive a BMW into my side.
Saturday.
Foo Fighters at Hyde Park
First....Juliette and the Licks
Now, as a movie lover, ive never really liked Juliette lewis all that much. She has been ok in some stuff...pretty bad in others.
But here she has turned me around, she is BORN to be onstage.
Looking like the child of Iggy Pop and P J Harvey, throwing herself around, singing her heart out. She converts me with the first song and has me ready to buy the album with the second.
Im highly impressed
Next Angels and Airwaves
I thought that Blink 182 were alright...so i was intrested to see just what this band played like.
And really....its like Blink 182 mixed with the guitar from early U2 ....a Blink 18U2 if you like.
Not bad...if a little on the pretencious side.
Queens of the Stone Age
Storming the stage, blowing away everyone in the path, Queens of the Stone Age make it worth sitting out in the boiling heat. Playing a blistering set full of all the hits, Josh converts everyone in the audience into a instant fan.
Worth the price just for this.
Motorhead.
You either love Motorhead or hate them...there is no inbetween. And i love them. Even if they had only played one song...the aces of spades...i would have been happy. And the sight of Juliette Lewis on backing vocals is something that will stay with me for a long time.
Foo Fighters
The main event
So far i have seen Foo Fighters play 5 times. I was there when they did the first gig at reading. I was there at the gig at Wembley. Ive seen them enough times to know they arnt going to let me down.
But tonight...tonight is the best yet.
85000 people...the biggest Foo Fighters gig ever.
The band hold everyone under a spell...making the audience dance and spin to every word.
And then...just when you think things can`t get any better....they do a cover of Queen`s Tie your mother down....and bring on Brian May and Roger Taylor.
The sun sets over Hyde Park, perhaps because thats what the sun would do anyway. But i like to think its because it knows that today, today the Foo Fighters are burning brighter than the sun.
Sunday.
early up and early out. Wandering the streets of London.
had breakfast in Maxwells just off covent garden. And if you ever go there..look out...one of the waiters (the one that surved me) looks just like Girthy
Spent a fortune in Forbidden Planet and Fopp (Fopp is a record chain over here that brings you good music at cheap prices)
Music Purchesed.
A Camp album
The Dresden Dolls latest album
A older cd by MC SOLAR
The Giant Drag cd Hearts and Unicorns.
And proberly the thing i enjoyed most....the David Cross comedy cd Its not Funny.
so....quiet couple of days.
