I went and saw Blonde Redhead, Helio Sequence and IQU at the Showbox last Friday... good show. I like Blonde Redhead a lot, but their music kinda makes you want to take your own life. Not much of an uplift mofo party plan for a Friday night, but good music is good music - you can't argue it.
I'm going to see The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and The Gossip this Friday at Neumo's. How much cooler am I than you? Seriously. JSBX is not only one my superfave bands, but I think one of the largest influences on my gee-tar playing. I've wanted to see 'em live for years, but my lazy ass crapped out last time when they hit the Showbox with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. That would've been a rockfest.
I have new pics I want to upload for my profile and otherwise, but they're all ol' skoo' "film" photos. I have a scanner in my apartment--I never hooked it up. I work 40 hours a week in a room with, oh I don't know, 8 scanners in it--I never scanned any pics. I'm actually considering using my digital camera to take pictures of my pictures. How lazy is that? Eh, watcha gonna do...

i've actually managed people before. i have had to manage friends, too.
it cracks me up, because all the journal comments i've had are wow...you're busy. and it's not "busy" to me at all. i am a constant mover. i drive people crazy.
so, with being a good manager, remember there's two sides. the business side and the human side. if you need someone to do something, ask them. then tell them thank you for the job well done if they did what was asked.
good managers are friendly, but have few friends in their job environment.
they have heart, and compassion, but also know when to say...hey, policy is policy. i need you here, you call in once a week. let's see you work on that.
i'm a plethora of many many kinds of information. strange that way, i suppose.
