So I haven't been on SG in a while, what with holiday madness and just general busyness. But I thought I'd say a quick hello. I've been really introverted lately, pulling into my own little world, trying to decide where to go next on my life journey. I'm working on two art series that I'm really excited about, one will be paintings based on some of my ink portraits, many of SG's so that will be fun. And the other is a series of large mandalas, built out of tiny mandalas painted on bottle caps, bread twistie ties (you know the little plastic rectangles) etc. I need thousands of these to make it work so I'm soliciting donations from anyone and everyone who might be interested in collecting for me. If you are into that idea, Message me and let me know. Your reward is not only my eternal gratitude, and the sheer joy of being part of a piece of communal art, but I will also be sending a tiny mandala piece of the greater art work to each person who sends me donations. So there's that.
I'm also working on finishing up a Children's Mindfulness CD of guided meditations, affirmations and relaxations for children and the adults who love them. This is a pet project that I started after teaching yoga in my son's school for 2 years. I wrote and recorded a total of 12 tracks to help children learn to meditate, be present and become still within themselves. I'm now just finishing up the CD insert and preparing to print, distribute and sell them to the world. If anyone is interested in pre ordering let me know and I'll hook you up with a deal.
I'm also considering becoming an Ebay seller, but not totally sure where it would fit in to my busy schedule. If I do, I'm thinking about auctioning the body suit I wore in my set Deep Blue Sea... What do you think?
In sadder news, as some of you know, I have been raising and keeping chickens as pets for almost 3 years now, and last week our entire flock was massacred by a friend's dog that we were babysitting. All 7 chickens, including 5 babies that had just barely been integrated into the outside flock the day they got killed. I've lost a chicken here and there to raccoons and such in the past (the sad down side of pets that are also delicious) but nothing like this. It was completely devastated and I'm still reeling from the tragedy.
Other than that, I'm tending my medical garden (fighting broad mites sucks, but I think I have a handle on it now), preparing for a gnarly dental procedure tomorrow (deep cleaning, 4 fillings and a wisdom tooth getting pulled. UGH) and just trying to stay present in the moment and keep moving toward my goals. I'm looking forward to the upcoming SG party that @sunshine is planing for January 24th (check her IG @sunniesunshine if you want to get in on this awesomeness) and taking it day by day.
Oh and here's a random picture of me getting ready to party at the Sound Tribe Sector 9 show in Oakland. Champagne and stretchy pants. mmmmm
