Well I've been wanting to post some pictures of what's been going on in my crazy beautiful life, but my computer was slowly dying on me and then this month finally kicked the bucket. But the good news is I have a new laptop and now I can upload pictures! SO here's my photo diary of this December and early January.
In December I got to meet @exning who was as sweet, fun and beautiful as can be! It's always fun to meet a fellow chicken mama, and talk chickens. I got to assist @sunshine shooting Exning for non SG purposes, he's a behind the scenes shot. I even got the chance to model with Exning for oil slick pads at the last minute, which was inspiring and humbling for such a modeling rookie like me to be posing beside such a stunning pro, but I had a blast. I actually don't have any pictures with both of us yet, but hopefully will be able to post some soon.
I also got THREE new tattoos this December, all in one week! Happy Solstice and merry Christmas to me! Here's my new thigh piece by the uber talented @rowdi who took my idea of a great horned owl and created this beautiful piece for me, I love the ram horns since I'm an Aries (which she didn't even know, just sensed that ram horns would be good). This little psychedelic owl spirit represents this phase of transformation in my life from a teacher, to a full time artist and @sunshine 's assistant. She will be getting color soon which I'm super excited for!
Other two tattoos were on my feet, which everyone told me was going to hurt so bad, but actually I didn't think it was too much worse than any other ones I've gotten, although the healing process was gnarly and long. These are my lotus feet that I've been wanting for so long. The lotus-feet is a metaphor for the divine feet of the gods, saints and other exalted spiritual beings in many Eastern religions. The lotus is a spiritual symbol and signifies spiritual development, creation, purity and rebirth. A student or follower in a spiritual tradition of higher truth, a disciple of a spiritual teacher, master, saint or guru, or the devotee of a particular deity or lord can express humility, surrender, devotion, deference, dedication and love by worshiping, contemplating or meditating upon the lotus feet of spiritual teacher, etc. In these ways,
communion with the divine is established. I've been wanting them for a long time as symbol of my own quest for enlightenment and as a reminder to keep myself walking that path toward Nirvana. These tattoos came out better than I had hoped for and were done by Paul Van Horn, who happens to be my cousin.
The holidays were full of travel, but by New Years, we found ourselves back in beautiful sunny Santa Cruz. Here's some shots of the gorgeous sunsets and cliffs where we were chilling on New Years eve.
The New Years waves were incredible! Check out all those surfers!
January I got to assist with the shoot of this babely hopeful, who is so new I'm pretty sure she doesn't have an SG name yet, but the set is beautiful and I can't wait for it to be finished! Look how much I love my job. I am a happy girl. Reflecting light on a gorgeous booty. Yep. This is the life.
More than anything else, this is what I've been doing: sitting on my couch, on my laptop, cuddling my kitten while I'm prepping sets! I love helping Sunshine get these sets ready for MR and I will be sure to let you know when they go into MR!
Oh, and this is probably the greatest game I've ever played. Grateful Dead Opoly! If you are a Dead Head like me, you will understand how much joy this brings me!
So that's about it! I have also been drawing and painting a lot, finishing some new SG portraits, but I'll post a separate art blog for those.
I'll also be helping out at the SG booth at Inked Hearts in Arcada Valentine's Day weekend so if anyone's going I'll see you there!
