Last night, I enjoyed a most excellent night out in Austin with several members of the SG family. SuburbanSlave gets all sorts of credit for cutting through the procrastination and vacillation that had blocked attempts at earlier Austin outings. Grrlhavoc, Volkov and Prdanesq were all charming companions, as were non-members KC, Elizabeth and Allison. And Maggie! Her photo sets are nice, but they fail to capture how stunning she is in person. I'd analogize with the first three Cheap Trick albums -- I listen to them quite a bit and enjoy them very much (especially the first one...), but you really had to experience that band's live show to fully appreciate what they had to offer. (FYI, I'm basing the Cheap Trick judgment on listening to the two-disc "Live at Budokan" set, catching them live a couple of times in recent years, and reading accounts of their '70s shows from other people -- I was too young, alas, to experience it first-hand.) Anyway, thanks for a nice night out.
