Here's some stuff I made:
If you live in the Brooklyn/Manhattan area and you make art and you want to trade studio visits and input, hit me up. I'd love to see other people's studios and work and talk about making art and what we're doing.
In other news, my friend from the west coast headed home but the one from the bay may be moving to Brooklyn if she can convince her BF. That would be beyond awesome as they're one of the biggest reasons I'd entertained the idea of moving to Oakland.
Hm. I was out shopping for boots yesterday and accidentally ended up in a boutique in SoHo where they sell hand made Italian shoes. It wasn't an accident that I walked in, but had I understood where I was it wouldn't have happened. I tried on one pair of shoes and instantly knew that there was nothing I could justify spending the money on, but felt like I should keep trying on other pairs so the attractive woman with an accent didn't feel that I was intentionally wasting her time. I know it doesn't make sense. I ended up putting on a little over a thousand dollars in shoes in under ten minutes and then didn't buy anything. So it goes.
More people down from Boston this weekend and it's looking as if I'll be in show up there in December, so I hope to be able to make it up for the reception and to see a bunch of you fine folks while there.
I spoke with mom yesterday and was happy to hear that she and my dad are voting for Obama Tuesday. She said three or four times that the Republicans have done a good job of ruining the country over the past eight years which are pretty strong words for my mom... I really hope the majority of the American public feel the same way. That Obama sign I made is (obviously) red, white, and blue and I have to admit that I felt as if I was losing one of the last little bits of punk that I had left over in me when I did it. I think the teenage me might be pretty pissed at late 20s me, but whatever. So get out there and vote! It's important.
