Not a whole lot to say. Had Thanksgiving at my friend's house, it was pretty fun. It was much better than holidays of yore wherein nobody says anything for an hour or so, then somebody says something, other people respond with relief and mock enthusiasm. Still, this was my first Thanksgiving away from my family so it was kind of strange. What else? Went and saw the Borat movie, it was pretty damn funny. It's also interesting to see people being forced to confront their own stupid behaviors and attitudes (I'm thinking now of the fact that the guy is being sued by like half the people in the movie). Not much else, I work in my studio and that's it. It's awesome but lonely sometimes. I realized just how awesome the other day when I thought to myself: "I don't have a job and all I have to do is show up to my studio and work everyday." FUCK YES. Academia is the sheeit. Actually, I do sometimes have to write papers and should probably be doing so right now. Here's a picture of me in my studio with a brightly colored painting. I thought I should experiment with louder colors. I'm currently in the process of painting them out.
I got some rain gear for my bike, so no more riding with wet feet...cool. I recently discovered a couple of artists that I'm really into, they are Angelina Gualdoni and Peter Doig. Again, school is awesome.
Reagan Youth is playing here in a couple weeks, that should be cool.
I'm thinking about selling all my CDs and going digital, well, except for vinyl.
Oh, the first guy I met in the painting program here has dropped out of the program. I feel kind of sorry for him, but I don't think he was ready to commit so it's probably better that he not waste the time and money at this point.
Also, I want to do something fun for New Year's this year. I'll be in Washington for Christmas and my birthday, but will be back in Mass for the turn of the year. So let me know what the plan is.
