I moved into my studio! Awesome! I would've taken pictures, but there's not a whole lot to see at this point. However, it is very large and open, has good light, and the girl that was in it last year built a nice shelving system that she's going to leave behind for me. One of my fellow painting buddies helped me move all my stuff out of my apartment and into the space. So yeah, I'm excited about it.
Otherwise, I went and saw Origin last night and they RULED. The biggest news to me was that they got John Longstreth back; he's fat and has a big beard now, but he still fucking kicks ass. Fuck...every time I see them they blow me away. Also, every time they play I'm forced to give myself whiplash. They should have gotten to play longer, too...buuuut a bunch of crappy bands took too long to set up and offload. Oh well. I got to talk to Paul a bit who is always very nice and is always very encouraging about my seeking out a new band since we (Pathos) played one of our last shows with them. I don't know about playing music here, though. I really miss writing with people and of course playing shows, but I just haven't really met anyone that I really hit it off with in the metal scene over here (other than Granny of course). So I don't know, we'll see. What else? Internal Suffering opened for them, they were alright. I guess they're from Columbia and are on Unique Leader...so it was pretty typical 'brutal death metal'. I'm getting really bored with that stuff. But yeah, it was a fun show.
I've updated my photos over the course of the past couple hours, so go look at them...I put in a bunch of stuff from the show last night, Portland, my going away party and a bunch of other stuff. They're a bit of a mess since I've been putting off updating that crap for months. Yep- looking forward to Madeleine's visit, seeing the Body Worlds exhibit and Suicide Saturday! Cool.
addendum:
If you go see 'The Descent', which I just did, and a young girl happens to get impaled through the head with a flying pipe- high school girls in the audience will be abhorred when and if you laugh out loud.
