Alright, so, an update. People generally apologize for not updating more often here, but I'm not feeling too apologetic.
First things first: I got a new tattoo. I think there's something really exciting about getting brnd new work done that's just cooler than getting a larger piece worked on. Anyway, my friend Shayne is an artist here in Spokane and he and I have been talking about his doing some work on me for quite some time, so the other week we actually did it. I now have a severed hand of Christ coming down from my calf onto my foot. I'd post pictures, but it's all crusty right now and they wouldn't look all that sweet, if I can get the ones he took I'll put 'em up. Anyway, yeah, I'm fairly happy with the piece and I think it's a good start on my legs.
Next: I fucking went skydiving! My best friend, Abe, and I went and did tandem jumps at 12,000 feet and we had nearly a minute of freefall! Totally insane. I really can't describe how exhilarating the experience was, but I hope to go again and I don't think I've ever felt so alive. Amazing. Again, no pictures as they were ridiculouslly expensive.
Madeleine and I went to a local, independent horror film fest the next day. There was a zombie costume contest which we dressed up for and I won the title of "King Zombie." I think what really clintched it for me was talking about inserting and opening umbrellas into various bodily orifices - not very zombie-like, but fairly amusing to think about. Unfortunately, the films were all fucking awful. I felt bad cos I know a bunch of the people that made them and they're all stoked on being film makers, but the shit was bad. Not like, "it's so bad it's funny" bad either.
Then I got my bike all tuned up and it rides a million times better. Awesome.
Portland!

Ghoul
The next event of great importance was the Goregon Massacre Fest! What a blast. I'd really been hoping to get down to Portland before moving so I could say goodbye to all my friends down there and this was a great excuse to go. I thought a whole caravan of people from Spokane were heading that way, but it ended up just being Madeleine and I again. We took the train out at about 3am and showed up at 10am. After much waiting, we got picked up downtown and promptly took a nap at our friend's place. We were awoken by some of the guys from Splatterhouse and Zombie Ritual who had just gotten in from Japan. Since Jason was in charge of the fest we kidn of took care of the ZR guys until the show. I can't really explain how funny these guys were, but they liked to drink and speak of zombies in broken, drunken english.
I also came to the realization, with some suggestions from my close friends, that if grad school doesn't work out I should probably write a book about being an asshole. Not just how to be an asshole, but how to be a better asshole. Definitely not a book for beginners.
So yeah, we watched a ton of cool bands, saw a bunch of cool people and got home exhausted and hungry at 1am Monday morning.
Zombie Ritual
I don't know, I still feel a little burnt out, but my friend got VIP passes to see Kool Keith tonight...so I guess I'll get over it. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something here, I'll add it later if I think of it. Fuck, yeah, this was going to be a really thorough entry, but I don't have the energy for it. There're pictures, quit fucking complaining...I'll have more in my pictures section sometime soon.
I leave for Boston the 28th of this month! Holy shit I don't have enough money! I'll be making some stops along the way to see family throughout the mid-west, I'll probably get into town around the 6th! Awesome!
