Glastonbury!!
To start, here are some statictics of the festivals features....
- More than 20 stages
- Countless mini-stages, tents & side-shows
- 150,000 people in attendance
- 2 Cinemas
- A Circus
- A Casino
- A Sliver-Service restarant
- A chapel perfomaing marriages
- A bespoke tailor
- A barber shop
- Its own radio station
- Its own daily newspaper
- An ancient stone-cirle
- 5 pieces of overview street-art
I arrived on the Wednesday and it was hot. Very hot. The heat continued through thursday... I was starting to really regret leaving my camera at home until around 6am on friday when the site was hit with an insane torrential storm lasting more than 5 hours, with many of the stages being struck by lightening... This caused massive flooding across the site, at one point there was around 3' of water covering many tents.... So, lucky I left the cameras at home then!!
Once the festival was running (the first few bands on all but one stage were dropped due to power-failure, not one band I wanted to see though....) I was darting from stage to stage to fit in as much as possible. I didnt see a whole set for many bands, but some demanded it!
I saw the following bands over the weekend....
THURSDAY
- The Bays
FRIDAY
- John Butler Trio
- Kokolo
- YourCodeNameIs:Milo
- M83
- Bloc Party
- The Lovegods
- Roots Manuva
- Buck 65
- Steve Earle
SATURDAY

- Modey Lemon
- I am kloot
- G Love
- The Futureheads
- Rilo Kiley
- Taj Mahal Trio
- DJ Format w/ Abdominal & D-sisive

- Squarepusher
- Hexstatic
SUNDAY
- SkaCubano
- Quantic Soul Orchestra
- Jamie Lidell
- Dresden Dolls

Ryan Adams & Speedy J were billed, but didnt show...
Best band? Impossible to say, but special mentions go to Rilo Kiley, M83, LCD Soundsystem, Dresen Dolls & Squarepusher.... Oh, and I got a DJ Format frizbee after he threw it and it hit me in the face....
No Glasto next year, so 2007 cant come quick enough! Maybe a trip to Bonnaroo or Coachella for 2006?
