Whew, I'm beat. Had to get up way too early to take the wife to work this morning. Coffee, don't fail me now!

Just got the new Sleepytime Gorilla Museum cd in the mail, and I am currently listening to it. I don't think I can even describe how totally balls-hanging-out excited I was when I saw it in the mailbox. They're just the coolest, and one of the best live shows I've ever seen, but this is only the second cd they've released since they've been together (five years or so?). So it's not like when I get a They Might Be Giants craving and I have a huge discography to choose from.... Plus the last time they came through Eugene (at the old John Henry's) Nils and Dan hung out and talked music a bit, and they were really cool guys. I wrote another silly pop song today, about my work. I crack me up. I'm not sure that this is a good thing. Anyway, I'm waiting for my wife to wake up so I can record the lyrics without disturbing her.

My friend's younger sister had the shit kicked out of her the other day at school because she's white and is dating a black kid. So six black girls randomly decided to knock out a few of her teeth, break her nose, blacken her eyes, and just generally fuck her up. Arg. She didn't fight back. Shit like that makes me so angry. I grew up in a very racist area (read as: rural Oregon), and now that I'm an adult (not mature, just older) I just don't want to have to deal with people who make such superficial, yet lethal, judgements.
