I'm sorry to all my friends for being so selfish. I know I shouldn't have expected them to drop what they wanted to do for me. But at zero hour when I could have used some help; Dani wanted time with her boyfriend, Jackie wanted time with her new guys, and Tony had something going on too. I couldn't get ahold of Morgan at all....

Oh, for the love of god, don't apologize for the way you've been feeling these last few days! My god, just the fact that you're able to communicate at all means you're handling this better than I would. Just be there for Caitlyn, be the best you can for her, and know that you're not alone.

That's what friends are for.
That's what friends are for.
I wrote a HUGE entry and it all got erased. Here's the highlights. My bestfriends all ditched me for sex, or as close as they could get to it, and i have feelings for my ex's bestfriend. my bestfriends neighbor thinks i'm really cool, and my friend rosie told me i was gorgeous. i didn't post anything about my niece because i don't know the...

well, sorry i haven't gotten ahold of any of you guys, but i've been in my hometown. the news on my niece isn't getting better. what she has is very similar to AIDS and HIV. i should be going at the current moment, i'll try to keep you posted...
erich:
Darlin, we're here for you. Whatever I can do, just let me know.
well, I came to you a few days ago with good news. No my niece does not have cancer. but she lacks the resources in her body to create anti-bodies. she has to go through infusions of anti-bodies every month for the rest of her life. and we find out next week if she'll live long enough for that. meaning that she may not live...

Hmmm...I can't think of anything funny to say to cheer you up.
I just hope everything works out ok.
You should get online right now. I'm bored.

i feel pretty useless right now. i need a job. i baked banana bread today. i didn't leave my house. i'm debating making a midnight run for the taffy cookies i seem to be addicted to...
erich:
Kiddo, don't worry about needing a job. I'm 30, I have a college degree, I'm an Army Intelligence veteran, and I'm stumbling from temp job to temp job. You've got years to go before you can feel shitty about not having a real job.
bohogirl:
Oh, I like you! You and I will make great friends, especially during those midnight sugar runs
(and during the day, we can bake... hey, maybe that's the job - why go get one, when maybe you can create one?)
I'm with Erich on this one... I not only have a college degree (a double BA), I have a completed Masters and a thesis for a second one being reviewed as we speak... and a teaching credential. And, I'm at that age where I'm expected to have a 'real job'...
Do I have one?
No.
(I did, but thanks to our lovely president and all the money he put into the education system, we all got laid off)
Is it worth stressing over?
Absolutelly not!
I've learned over the last few months that there is so much more to life than the stupid job and chasing the American dream. As long as you can survive (on your own or with help of friends), you're doing just fine.
So, next time you feel useless and like you have no reason to leave your house, drop Erich or I a note and we can all get together plot ways to employ ourselves, eat junk and make fun of gainfully employed

yesterday: set alarm, go to sleep. my alarm goes off 3 hours early at 3:30 am. in sleepy torper, i turn it off. wake up late for class. haul ass to class, and it's already over. i couldn't afford to miss another day.

Holy crap! If I was going thru all that, I'd have a great excuse - drunkeness. There ain't no way i could take all of that sober, and I an not a big drinker...
bohogirl:
Everybody should... I've been saying that for at least 20 years!
That's some shit you're dealing with! Are they going for the niece/dog explanation? Do we need to start getting resourcefull? (i.e. both Erich and I are technically disabled... I know I can get a doc's note for a caretaker...)
