We were about halfway out of the garden when the vitamin C drops started to kick in...I remember jack saying something like "Oh shit man...whats that thing doing!!!!"
I didnt see anything.. and then there was a terrible roar around us and the air was filled with water bottles spinning and spraying droplets all over and then I yelled...
"No man were gonna get all...

Update....
Noted some peculiarities in the automatons behavioral patterns. Seems to regard me with a strange reverance above what I would expect from such a construct. When Howlin Jack wanted to play some Neverwinter Nights with me I instructed the Automaton to remain in the living room while Jack and I went into he office for a game. The Automaton obeyed of course but I sensed a strange reluctance in it to part my company and when Howlin Jack spoke I saw the onyx eyes of the Golem suddenly shift and flare. I am convinced it was simply a reflection of light and shadow within the room but ....
I dare say it looked like hate! mad eeek

As I lay listening to the clicking of Tyrogs cloven feat upon the cobblestone floor I thought of my old friend Reggie and how he used to love the rhythmic tapping of Tyrogs hooves.
Poor Reggie is gone nowhe had fallen into one of the towers of the nearby nuclear power plant. A fate that has haunted my nightmares for many yearshow he floated there...

good god, that is the biggest guinea pig i've ever seen in my life.

also: kizmett is right - read Ender's Game. awesome, awesome book.
kellylynn:
ooh, Vonnegut is so good. i've read every one of his novels and around half his plays and i'd have to say that probably Slapstick is my favorite. although, Cat's Cradle did get me hooked, and from there on, i've never really disliked any of his work, except Player Piano. I just couldn't get through that one and come out enjoying it.

Often I stare wonderingly into the eyes of the skull headed cane. The one I purchased from a bazaar in the desert. Its leering skeletal face seems to be laughing and its ruby eyes appear to dance with unholy life as they reflect the dim light of the lamp. Sometimes late into the night when all is quiet I hear a distant chattering as from...

I just read the best book! It was excellent. Its called "Plague on Wheels" by Kilgore Trout.

Its about this planet of creatures that look very similar to automobiles. They had internal combustion engines and ate fossil fuels. Yet they were not built in factories. No way! They reproduced! They laid eggs that contained tiny automobiles that matured in pools of oil. Yeah its weird...
