Rock rock rock rock rock n roll tantrum!
OK so I stopped by the Dead Boys show Friday night.
Furious George: You all know they suck, I won't get into it
Adrenaline O.D.: for guys pushing 40 they held it together amazingly. I even bought a CD!
Flipper: Punk Rock Hippie Jam Band. I had to walk out.
Dead Boys: OK, here's where things get interesting. I didn't get to see their whole set. Why, you ask? Because after song three, the drummer threw a shitfit about the sound system, beat the living fuck out of his drums with the stool, and threatened the sound guys if they didn't fix the sound system around him. I heard them play again right before I left, but that was 20-30 minutes after the drummer stormed off the stage in a rage.
Saturday's show went little better. The Dead Boys didn't do an encore, because the drummer and one of the guitar players didn't return to the stage.
however, Saturday's show was aided by the supporting bands. I am not a fan of the Nihilistice, but they played a good set with alot of funny banter. The Stimulators I could have taked or left, but they played a good technical set.
Now the League, woa oh oh, The Anti-Nowhere League... They fucking rocked. They made the entire show worth going to, and I left the pit after their set drenched in sweat, sore, tired, and basically in need of hydration. They opened and closed with "We Are the League" which was perfect as it tied the entire set together. And they FINALLY played "I'm an Animal" live...
shamunda:
Now I am not so sure I feel bad missing these shows aside from AntiK.
