I was really stupid over the weekend at work. I tried to help out a coworker with lifting a casket. the casket by itself weighs about 250 lbs, and of course the one I tried to help lift had a body inside.
needless to say, I really hurt my back. it didn't start hurting until the day after. I am really trying to avoid going to the doctor, does anyone know of what I should do?
I've had a heating pad on my back off and on, and my girlfriend usually massages my back before we go to bed to help me sleep. I'm so mad that I did this, but I really wanted to be strong and independent and help. ugh!

Between heat and massage I have Voltaren Gel that helps, they have different kinds of gel out there but I've found this one works best for me. When I'm not in my store I bring beds and furniture to people including an almost 300 pound adjustable bed yesterday. Also been doing it for 16 years so bound to have sore back and shoulders from time to time. A regiment of rest and what you've been doing and you should be fine soon @oswin

even with the voltaren gel. your back could take up to 3-4 months to fully heal. hot showers can help with the muscle spasms
