Ok so some youtube videos of some music I've been listening to lately.
First up I've been stuck on Brand New's First album "Your Favorite Weapon". I think personally that this is their best album and this video (while kinda shitty) has one of my favorite songs from the album, "Magazines". It's catchy and simple but it has a lot of energy and some good hooks. I know pop punk died back in 2003ish but whatever...
And another from my home theater of the Tulagi in Boulder, CO.
About two years ago around the time when I had the pleasure of meeting 666Irish for the first time I met another SG member who is no longer active on the site. I stayed at his house for a day and he introduced me into "Skinhead Reggae", or what they called early early ska from the 60's and 70's in Britian. One of the biggest and most well known artists to come out of this genre was Desmond Dekker. If you've never heard of him, you should go out and buy all of his records (or download them if your like me). His music is genius. I would also say that Desmond had more of an influence in bringing reggae to the masses than Bob Marley. It's debatable I know, but the Beatles made a point to include Desmond and not Marely into one of their songs (Ob-La-Di-La-Da). Anyways here is Desmond Dekker singing "Israelites"
Next up we got The Ettes. The closest thing that I can relate them to is if Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs was lead for The White Stripes. It's very clean classic sounding punk rock that reminds me of some Ramones songs.
I wasn't a big fan of the first Gnarls Barkley cd, but on their new album "The Odd Couple" the first track "Blind Mary" has a ridiculously catchy chorous and I swear I listened to this song about 20 times on repeat after the first time I heard it.
Lastly, the new Daft Punk album is tits on a ham sandwich. I cannot even begin to describe how awesome it is. There's nothing really new about it, but the good old robot boys mash together songs from all of their albums and make a fucking awesome record. Here's a couple of my favorites.
Superheroes/Human After All
Television Rules the Nation/Around the World/Crescendolls
And finally my favorite Aerodynamic/One More Time
Well I guess that's it for now. I'm 18 days from getting out and I can't wait. My schedule for when I get is looking like I'm going down to Florida for a couple days to visit my Mom and then up to Maryland to visit the SGCC crew and then I'll head west and home to Boulder.
Poka.

actually, though, just now with I looked, he was winning by 17 points but only losing by 5 or 6. that's pretty impressive.
also, this UPS guy did have a soul. and he wasn't gonna take no shit. He actually threatened to withhold my package and also blamed me for the thing I was insulting him about. It was more awesome than it sounds.
