Ye Greate Boat Trip 2011
Lets set he scene:
Chris and his 18yo cousin from the US, Kuba, left warsaw a day early with Chris's parents to see his grandparents and would be driven to the town we were picking up our hired boat by them.
Jacek had to take a bus a day later as he had a last exam the day we were going.
That left 4 of us; Rudy, Jula, Adam and me to take the bus alone on the dark and rainy, and rather chilly sunday, at the bright and early hour of 8am.
I shall skip the story of my getting to the bus station, which now resembles more of a very large, very muddy puddle with some buses standing in it rather than a station as you might imagine it.
I was uncharacteristically unprepared for the trip with only a packet of rice-cakes to tide me over.
hello 6 hour bus ride.
All in all it wasn't so bad, my travel companions being amusing chaps and there being few other passengers.
Until Jula realized that Rudy hadn't taken his patent. A patent is like a drivers license for yachts, without it we could not leave port. Ah, the first stress of boats.
It all got sorted out of course, Jula sent her house keys back to Warsaw with Chris's parents who thankfully hadnt left yet, their over protectiveness finally coming in handy, where they passed them on to Jacek who brought them with the next day.

The next day finally brought Jacek, the keys, some morning sunlight and we were off onto the open lakes with black storm clouds at our backs.
The next day started out bright and sunny and wanting to make the most of it we cast off without breakfast. Though we did get a free beer for paying the tying up fee.
