We had this big old golden retriever at work today. He had bone cancer in his leg and had to have it removed. There was blood everywhere
, and i had the honor of putting his leg in the carton that got sent to the place where they deal with stuff like that. It was extremely odd to carry a huge ten-pound leg that was once attached to a living animal. he also managed to rip out his cafiter, and replacing that was a bitch.
not too much fun today.
On the bright side the little feral kittin we've been trying to socialize is becoming friendly...meaning she didn't try to maul me today. If anyone lives in the Santa Cruz/ San Jose area, and knows of any feral cats/kittens, on July 24th the Wilson Vet Hospital is offering a reduced fee for Speying/Neutering for the feral cat if you bring it in. The only catch is that if the animal tests positive for FIV (basically HIV or aids for cats), you have to agree to euthanize him/her.
Anyway, if you want to participate in this, the address is 24900 Highland Way, Los Gatos, CA 95033 or call (408) 353-8164.
