Oh-Blah-Di, Oh-Blah-Da
Life goes on, yeah!
So much going on right now I can hardly keep up. On one side, it keeps feeling like things are getting worse. I threw a temper tantrum the other day. I didn't even realize I was doing it until the pain of tearing muscle fiber pulled me out of it when I bit my arm hard enough to draw blood. I need help, but I can't afford to start taking depression meds again, or I'll lose my job. Something about psychotropics and nuclear reactors make people nervous.
On the bright side, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. The key event I've been working towards, but can't yet talk about is approaching quickly. My lawyer is extremely optimistic that the Navy will acknowledge their mistake and fix my discharge codes without having to go to court. Even my congressman is involved at this point and is putting pressure on the records correction board. It should only be a matter of weeks until the two biggest sources of stress right now are gone for good.
Also, I put an offer on the house I mentioned in my last blog. $105,000. The seller has accepted the price, now we're waiting on bank approval since it's a short sale. Another minor awesome part is that it's an estate, and the kids have already taken everything they want, so half the house is furnished already. Most of the furniture still existing is antique and worth several thousand dollars. There's also some antique cameras in the master bedroom closet worth a few hundred bucks.
Speaking of cameras, I started shooting again. I'm refusing to let a couple bad experiences destroy my favorite hobbies. I started light, doing just a couple simple simple self portraits, one for last week's Selfy Sunday project on G+, and one for my first, albeit timid, foray into the Suicide Boys realm. I'm pretty sure there will be more now that the ice has been broken. At this point, I'd actually like to do some more with other photographers. Getting a bit of experience in front of the camera can surely only help my direction from behind the camera.
In the realm of other hobbies that have been largely ignored, my warhammer restoration project is nearing completion. At this point, everything is at least base coated, saving for the small handfuls of custom figures I'm still working on. I just finished developing my legion icon for the shoulder pads of every unit, to tie everything together. Once finished, it'll be less chaos undivided so much as chaos reunited. It's heaviest with Khorne and Tzeentch, but now that I'm a little older and more mature than I was in high school, Slaanesh is drawing my attention a lot more.
Lastly, since I'm running out of updates to type about, and I have a beer sitting next to me, here's a toast to the future, and things getting better.
