Well Hurricane Harbor was a smashing success. They spent the entire day there until the park closed at 6pm. I was hoping to join them but my lat audition didn't end until 4:30 and it seemed sort of pointless to drive all the way up there for 40 minutes or so in the place. I took the whole crew out to dinner instead when they got back. We went to Denny's. All three of the boys were lying down in their seats. I guess that's a rousing thumbs up for the fun factor. He pooped out pretty quickly and I actually got to sleep at a decent hour myself for a change.

I've been on tenterhooks for the past couple of days. I wrote what will be my final offer to my ex and sent it off on Tuesday. She evidently got it yesterday and said she would be faxing me a reply today. She didn't sound upset at all and I hope that's a good sign. If, however, they come back with a counter offer I'm just going to take it to court. Every offer I have made has been for more than the state requires. She's getting more than half of our community assets. I have agreed to split custody 50/50 even though I have had him most of the time (and continue to even after the 50/50 deal started). Every offer has been met with some preposterous counter offer asking for more. I just don't get it.

Yet every time I think we are about to finish this and come to an agreement they come up with some other absurd demand for even more money. I am just dreading what this could hold. It could be a simple "yes" but if it's taking her this long to write it I am beginning to doubt it will be.

We agreed at the beginning of all of this to keep things cordial for our son's sake. I have tried so hard to do that. I just really hate being jerked around and she knows this. I'm sure it's not a conscious thing on her part but she has to know she is doing it.

I'll update this tonight when I have heard something.

[Edited] I just got the letter. They have accepted my offer. Maybe now this long national nightmare can be over.
