I went to the Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. In Hollywood on Wednesday. It is going out of business after 40 or so years. It was kind of depressing in a way. The end of an era. This was the cool music store. The New York Dolls posed for pictures in fromt of the painting of their debut album cover on the wall in front. Every major indie/alternative band has signed records or done some promotion there. In a few weeks it will all be a parking lot. I did pick up a lot of stuff though (big sale you see) one of which was a "best ot the Boomtown Rats" CD. I had forgotten how awesome they are. So at least Tower gave me that one last thing.
Off to Legoland with the boy this weekend. He's got a one on one session with a "Lego Master builder". He is completely jazzed.
