The opening ceremonies are a little bizarre. But I can't think of any Olympic Opening Ceremony that wasn't weird.
Shame about that luger dieing. I saw the video. There isn't much to say about that.
Lots of things going on. Nothing I want to write about... just my landlord almost screwing me... and learning things about my building that piss me off. I'm going to bed I'm tried.
[EDIT]
I forgot to mention. Something I designed is getting trademarked!
Not bad for a 'developer'

When I was moving out of my old place, my landlord & I had a written agreement (well, via e-mail - but still written & agreed) that I would do certain things & all was well in the world.
It ended up costing me (all toll) $400 getting carpets cleaned, junk removal and having a cleaning lady come in. While these are all things the landlord SHOULD have paid to have done, since I lived there for 5 years, I thought I would do him a favor because we had a good relationship.
Plus, I forfeited the place early so he could rent it out quicker.
Well, after I moved out, his wife calls me saying I caused $6,000 worth of damages to the apartment and they are suing me & that I didn't pay them last month's rent. Wtf.?
Thank god for saved e-mails and everything else because she tried to say I didn't do all the things I said I would PLUS was trying to pin "upgrades" they wanted to make to the apartment on me.
Fucking jerks.
Also, for months after I moved out - they kept trying to take rent deposits out of my account [I had rent directly debited out of my account from them]. They didn't stop doing that until Feb 1st (keep in mind I moved out October 15th!!] after I threatened to take them to the Landlord and Tenant Board AND contact their bank for illegal transfer of funds.
Landlords (great relationship - like I had with mine prior to moving) or not are SHADY. And you are a business transaction to them. Nothing more. They don't care about you. No matter what they say.
