OK OK...I can take a hint, my poem sucked
So, what's going on with me...I'm on a basic acoustic analysis course...it's looking for submarines underwater...and it sucks...bad.
Remembrance Day is coming and I will be here on course...but it's a navy base so I will still get a chance to go out in my pretty uniform. Here is one of my favourite Remembrance Day poems...that I didn't write so no worries.
It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.
It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.
Which is why I wear my uniform with pride every single day..
In the spirit of Remembrance Day, I do think I'm going to start working on writing a second book. This one will be considerably different from my other book and is based loosely on a real story.
My great uncle avoided being drafted into WWII by changing his name and stealing the uniform of an Army Officer and hiding in plain sight downtown Toronto...where he eventually actually started working for the army, doing different secret missions until he was found out and spent some time in jail...a very short time because he was released to do more work. It is a fantastic story that needs to be told.

Keep me posted! I def wanna come out! I know Meshell and Pirate as well, if they are coming, though I haven't talked to either since I've been back on the site. In all my years of being here, I have never been to an SG meet up so that would be awesome! Thanks for the invite
