2nd update in a month, look at me go
So...I had knee surgery on Tuesday, I have to tell you it's not nearly as fun as it sounds. I COMPLETELY underestimated the amount of pain I'd be in and how helpless I would be. I thought sitting around, watching tv, chatting online would be fun. BUT, well, for the first few days I couldn't even be online much, the screen gave me a headache, the laptop on my lap hurt...it's starting to feel better BUT i still can't do anything, I HATE being such a burden on my friends and there is a long time to go
Anyway, enough of my whining for now....for now
I SHOULD be off work until Jan, which means more SG time, time to finish the book I wrote and HOPEFULLY time enough to get an agent. So, I'm hopeful.
I still spend a lot of time on FB, it rocks, the people that come out of the wood work is awesome.
OH, does anyone know how to access your bookmarks? like peoples profiles that you're not friends with, old threads, stuff like that?

dude... $1.95 per vote to the voter's choice? i think that's SO fair, and that's how it's worked for a long time. harper trying to take that away is LUDICROUS. private donations make political parties sell out to corporate interests, because that's the only way they can get money. ever thought of it that way?

yeah, i think the public money is a good thing. we pay taxes, which is where the government's money comes from. unfortunately, when we pay taxes, we aren't given a choice as to where we want the government to spend it... the only way we can control where our money goes is by electing a government that will spend it the way we want it to be spent. unfortunately, if you vote for a political party that doesn't win and make budget decisions, you have no control over where your money goes. you don't have the option to refuse to pay taxes if they're going to things you disagree with, or allocated in a way you don't agree with, so a portion of your money should at LEAST go to the party you voted for. that's what i think, anyway.
