Whew, what a way to start off august,
Today started with a large iced french vanilla from Dunkin' Donuts, along with a coffee cake muffin. (I also prefer my coffee the same way I prefer my women: strong, black, and proud. )
Then it was into the city of Boston to go explore and see two awesome bands at the Paradise club, As Tall as Lions and Rx Bandits. Upon realizing during our trip into the city, our local rock station is putting on a free show at city hall plaza, and we are gonna arrive just in time to see Passion Pit. Which we did.
Then it was off to the Dise to catch the show, Sold tickets to these two girls who were waiting for hours to get in, who later on would invite us to get drunk and stoned at their place in Alston. As Tall as Lions played some sick songs with a nasty trumpet solo. The Bandits killed it harder then ever before. Their new album is absolute amazingness, and the way they transform their songs into improvisational live performances is something of awe at time. Of course, I jumped around like a madman dancing to the songs, but it was a blast.
Well Dredg was about to go on after the bandits, but my roommate and I came up with an idea to catch the Bravery ending the free show down at city hall. So we turned the ladies down on their offer of booze, weed, and possibly blowjobs for more music. (I did however manage to get their numbers, and the connect is still there. ) So we get back to city hall to catch the end of the soundcheck. The Bravery come out and start rockin the show. I begin to dance like a maniac, but this time around I had support. About five other people decided jumping around in glee was something of a "Dance Party 09" type deal. During the Bravery's last song "Honest Mistake" I was pretty worn out and kept bumping into people, but it was cool cause it was seriously an honest mistake.
Headed back home to lowell, my roommate caught a ton of salmon, so if anyone knows any good recipes let me know. Went to cop a bag, and walked into a crazy party where kids were smashing windows and putting mattresses on cars. After that craziness, we smoked a blunt, played some 2k9 and now I'm about to peruse chat for a bit to see what other adventures people have been up too and see how they kicked off their August.
Sweet.
