I had a bit of a harrowing self-realization this weekend. It's time to decide if this attempt to be a professional artist is going to flop or fly. I am going to publicly record my agenda/tentative schedule/motivational itinerary. If I don't hold up my end of the bargain, the only person I have to blame is myself. It's time to stop allowing lack of action to serve as a shield for fear of criticism and failure.
I will "work" a four day week. Meaning that on four days out of every week, I will not go out for extended periods unless I've finished my work load for the day. I need to generate income and build a portfolio. There's no doing that casually.
I will produce one piece of digital artwork every day. I still need work on using tablets. It still doesn't feel natural to me. I will focus my work on anatomical pieces and will not hide from problem areas. I will post the pieces here, abnormalities/anatomical errors and all. I will not be afraid of making bad art.
I will sketch with traditional media more often, much more often. I will use my sketchbook as a thumbnailer for the larger digital pieces, working out my ideas and references.
I will do one traditional media piece every four days that will go online for sale.
Tuesday is the official kick-off date. I will mentally prepare between now and then. My art is only one area of my life that needs more focus. I'll use the off time to worry about those things.
Sorry to sound like Dr. Phil's favorite patient there for a moment. Sometimes it just helps me to get things out there in public, to put them out into the world, read them back to myself. Hope your weekend is going well. Mine's sleepy.

This is a nice blog. But everything I want to say sounds cheesy. So I'll just advise you to get cracking on that bible.
