This is a piece I'm going to be working on the next few days as part of a portfolio I'm putting together to shop around here in the valley. I want to someday become a tattoo artist, but working as a concept art guy at one of the local studios to pay bills until then isn't that bad a gig. Anyhow, here's the base lineart, which I'll be cleaning up and adding to probably the rest of the weekend, followed by flats and then rendering. I'll post my progress periodically, and we'll all see the final result together.
This looks a little sloppy. I usually will sketch in layers, adding and subtracting and what have you until I find something I want and then I do final lineart and discard the sketch layers. A lot of those sketch marks and guidelines are still present here.

that reminds me, I will NEVER set a scene in one of my comics in a cathedral. EVER
