Bought new jewellery today. I got a 5/8" ring with captive ball for my septum. I like it. Still waiting on the curved barbell also 5/8". It's the right size for me.
Other than that, my life is really, really boring.
Boring.
I am not so much with the eloquence of poetry but I would like to share one that I really like.
Variation on the Word Sleep ~ Margaret Atwood
I would like to watch you sleeping,
which may not happen.
I would like to watch you,
sleeping. I would like to sleep
with you, to enter
your sleep as its smooth dark wave
slides over my head
and walk with you through that lucent
wavering forest of bluegreen leaves
with its watery sun & three moons
towards the cave where you must descend,
towards your worst fear
I would like to give you the silver
branch, the small white flower, the one
word that will protect you
from the grief at the center
of your dream, from the grief
at the center. I would like to follow
you up the long stairway
again & become
the boat that would row you back
carefully, a flame
in two cupped hands
to where your body lies
beside me, and you enter
it as easily as breathing in
I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
& that necessary.
Good night all.

You quoted Margaret Atwood. You are too Canadian for your own good. Are you going to see her at wordfest in Calgary?
Actually I've spoke to quite a few people who are coming to town for her appearance, so I thought you might be among them. I don't think she's doing anything else western canadian for a while.
When I was in New York I was hanging out with bookstore people and they insisted that she was American.
I'll check out redwinterroses.
Poetry generally doesn't stir me like music does.
Seriously agree.
