Can you guess how excited I am to see this movie?
The brilliance of this reboot of the Batman film franchise is that it has made me care for the cinematic Bruce Wayne as much as I care about the four-colour Bruce Wayne. The scene in 'Batman Begins' where young Bruce breaks down and cries in front of his butler, Alfred, is heart-breaking.
In other news, my last day at my job will be next Friday. I'm definitely going to miss many of the people I work with (there are definitely people I'm eager never to work with again, though) and Vancouver is, as the provincial motto says, the best place on Earth, but I got to get going with my career. Getting in on the ground-floor of a game with great potential was just too juicy an opportunity to pass up. Still, I kind of feel not so much disappointment or ruefulness as wistfulness over missed opportunities here in Vancouver. Plus, even though this is my fourth relocation in four years, I feel trepidation at starting over again in a city where I know no one.
Maybe I'll be back here one day, maybe I won't. We'll see. Anyway, San Diego Comic Con in about a week and half, then back here to pack up. Boston at the end of the month.
Am I excited? You bet.
