Okay so FIRST blog post...
Well some how with as much stuff as is going on in my life right now it still some how seems ever so boring...
Let me try and catch you up...
I just lost my mom to Cancer last October.(well actually i lost her to an infection which she was unable to fight off due to her complete lack of any sort of immune system after undergoing her latest round of chemo. She was actually cancer free at the time of her death, just waiting for the chemo to completely leave her system so that she could recieve a bone marrow transplant from her brother which would have hopefully kept her in remission) Ironic ain't it?
Anyways, I was really really close to my mom I was living with her when she was diagnosed with Acute Mylogenious Leukemia (AML), back in March of '09. I took care of her the best I possibly could while she was home and visited her atleast 4-5 times a week when she was in the hospital. It was really sudden and unexpected when she passed because she was doing so well, it just kinda came out of nowhere... It hit me really hard. Thankfully her siblings helped me out so much. They took care of almost all the funeral arrangments and were really supportive. My dad was great to! Him and my mom had been divorced for over 20 years but they were still really close and I know it was really hard on him to but he was really strong and that helped me.
Well enough talk about that I don't want this whole post to be a huge bummer... But since I was living with my mom when she passed I now have a whole house to myself. It isnt huge or anything just a 2 bed, 1 bath, cozy little chicago style bungalow, but I absolutely love it. It also happens to be the house I grew up in, so that may have something to do with it... My dad wanted me to put the house up for sale and move in with him till it sold then buy a little condo... I HATE condos!!! Plus there is no way I am selling this house anytime soon. So to help with the utility bills and taxes I got a roomie last Nov. An old friend/ex bf. who was going through a seperation with his wife and needed a place to live just when I needed some extra $$. Im sure it would have worked just fine if he had, oh I don't know... PAYED his rent!!!! Needless to say I had to kick his ass out...
Things are definatly starting to look up though I will have a new roomie in the next few weeks. One that I'm pretty certain will actually pay his rent, and who wont bring along a whole shitload of drama like the last one. He's actually a really nice guy and I look forward to having a bit of company, other then my big furry sweetheart Gus.
I also just started classes!!! I've wanted to go back to school for a long time now but didn't really have the funds... Though I wish I could have aquired the funds in a different way (I'm funding school with my moms life insurance) I am glad that atleast something good could come out of such a tragedy. I am taking computer information systems (CIS) classes, working towards an associates degree in CIS specializing in network administration. I have night classes Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7-9:30pm, a Sunday class from 11:30am-2:50pm, and two internet classes. So far I am enjoying all my classes though some are certainly more challenging then others...
Well I think that's it for now... If you actually made it all the way through this ridiculously long post I congratulate you and promise I'll do my best in the future to keep these things down to a reasonable length.
