Sheesh. I'm really sucking with this whole blogging thing. It's been 2 months since my last blog. Guess I should do 15 hail mary's, right? No. Not quite. But I will again try to make an effort.
So shit's gone nuts lately for me. In a good way. Things aren't perfect yet, but I've had some serious changes and things are really looking up. It's been 7 months since I moved out to Los Angeles. I thought by now, I'd totally be in with a film crew and making movies or television shows. It's been way harder than I thought. I did finally get up the nerve to quit my bullshit pet store job. So now I'm unemployed.
The fact is, I quit my job because I got this awesome opportunity to go to BURNING MAN! Not only go to Burning Man, but to GET PAID to go! So obviously that's a great reason to quit a dead end job. And BOY am I glad I did. See, I was hired to film this douchebag's movie while we were there. But this guy had no idea what he was doing. There was no script, no shot list. NOTHING. He grabbed random people we met and improved (that's the act of IMPROV, not making better) scenes with them. It was the most pitiful display of filmmaking I've ever experience, if you could even call it that. There were wicked dust storms, where you couldn't see 3 feet in front of you, and this idiot wanted us to go film shit in it. I survived the trip. And I got paid. So that makes it worth it. But man do I have hundreds of great stories to tell. And on top of everything unpleasant, I fucking LOVED Burning Man! Seriously, I'm going back every year from now on. I'm hooked. I'm a Burner, and proud of it.
Since I've been back to reality after my trip, things have been great. I feel like I'm in a different mindset. I look at life and the world differently now. I'm more optimistic and accepting. And things have begun to work out! I've finally gotten some work on the TV show Criminal Minds. Never watched an episode of it, but hey, it's why I moved out west! Things are on the up and up, and I wholeheartedly blame BURNING MAN! For real. Burning Man changed my life!
Here's a pic of me anxiously awaiting our Airplane Ride at the Black Rock City Airport. Ok, I know I don't look thrilled at the moment, but seriously, 20 minutes later I was up in a tiny 4 person airplane getting the most incredible view of Burning Man!![](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/ph-508.604ed20cffa9.gif)
