Well, it's been a while, but life has been hectic. Trying frantically to get all my shit together for this move out west. Everything's falling apart, but I can't give up on my dreams.
So, I had a too good to be true situation, where a friend had "a rich uncle who had a condo in huntington beach, california that he's not even using and we can live in for free." So, to make sure my friend isn't just talking shit, I let him know how serious I am and how I'm giving notice to my landlord and job and we're doing this. Of course, 2 days after I give my notice, I find out "uncle mike has sold his condo; we're on our own." Great. So much for going out west with no money and trying to make it.
But I will not give up. The real killer is that I have to pay a lawyer $1500 right before I leave to take care of some DUI shit I got in a few months ago. I'll get it dropped and off my record, but I'm going to have to pay dearly. So many factors are coming against me trying to force me to stay in this shithole that is known as South Carolina. But I will not go quietly into the night.
My best lead so far is craigslist. I've found rooms in people's houses you can rent for around $300. No security deposit. That's still money, but it's a start. I'm packing everything I own into my car and driving out there by myself, living out of my car, so I can do that for a few months while I get settled.
It sucks I'm going to have to start my networking over again once I'm out there, but it'll be worth it to be out west. Looks like I'll have to get an internship somewhere during the day do get into the film industry, and I'll have to find a nightjob somewhere to pay the bills. It's going to be a rough couple of months, but I've got to do it. If I stay here, I'm throwing out my dreams. I can't do it. This is the most important thing I feel I've ever done in my life.
Wish me luck. And hey, if you're reading this and you are in LA or know people in LA, hit me up! I'm a nice, clean, well mannered, 25 year old who is trying to make it in the film industry. Any connections in the industry or people with an extra room in their house would be awesome! I make music videos and work on commercial shoots, so I've got experience, I'm just trying to get out to Hollywood.... help a dude out!![blush](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/blush.c659b594cdb0.gif)
