I have spent way more than I should at Whole Foods this week... prob about $400. I successfully switched to vegetarianism 2 months ago, and I am happy to say that I will never go back! (don't worry, I'm not one of those that preaches and tries to change the world, but I do, however, fully endorse organic meat if you're going to eat it). I'm trying to go 100% vegan but that is proving to be a challenge. I don't eat sugar or soy so that makes it tougher.
I saw District 9, and it was pretty entertaining i suppose.

Good luck on being a vegetarian. I've been vegetarian for 4 years. I don't miss it much at all. You did spend way too much for food. If you buy a lot of processed food, it adds up quick. I recommend cooking your own meals. I second the farmer's market. Vegan with a Vengeance is a great book, but can be complicated at times. Quick-fix Vegetarian is a fantastic book. It's not too complicated and, like it's title, it doesn't take too long to make.
