Sixteen years ago I met the most gentle, tolerant person I have ever known. I grew up with him, and though we weren't brothers through blood (or even of the same species), I grew to love him more dearly than I have ever loved anyone or anything.
Three hours ago he died in my arms.

Just in case you weren't feeling immeasurably depressed, I present for your edification my latest poem, tentatively titled It's the Fucking Twenty-Forth of April and It's Fucking Snowing in Fucking Ohio:
The time has come;
give up and grieve.
no one is coming to save you.
this is all you will perceive.
your door is locked for every ever.
even when your prison falls,...

Since my last entry I've encountered the paradigm-shattering phenomenons of Ghost in the Shell, miso soup, Guild Wars, Schlock Mercenary, and mobile computing (my Thinkpad 560e may suck hard, but Rheingold was totally on to something). Anyone care to share some recent discoveries of their own, or clue me in to other wildly significant stuff I've managed to miss?
I don't have writer's block, I'm just lazy and easily distracted.

Naw, I was giving the "go offline quickly after saying something cryptic" to another boy I was talking to.

I didn't even try. I just considered giving up chocolate, and then laughed at myself for days. If I ever hit one hundred pounds, I'll give up eating however I please.
Well, that clinches it. Whomever it is that orders the universe must be stopped. Today I renounce God, and today I lay claim to the power to denounce God.

You've read the other stuff? You remember reading the other stuff?
Your flattery baffles me.
You know I'm not a girl, right?
(If you ask me, God's gotten more than his share of nouncing as it is.)

*laughs* I don't know if you noticed but my friends list is about 50 people shorter. I deleted everyone who was grey and a whole bunch of non-greys, too.

Thanks for expressing your interest in visiting Blizzard Entertainment. We are very thankful to have fans as dedicated as yourself, and we're flattered that you would like to visit our studio. Unfortunately, we have to decline your request to receive a tour of our office.
Our developers are constantly working to deliver the next installment of our newest games to the public as soon as possible. As much as we would like to give a tour, giving one will take up much of their time, and would take away from their ability to work on the games you love! Thanks again for showing your support for our company. We're sorry that we are unable to accommodate your request, but we hope you understand our position on this matter.
Thank you again for contacting us. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft!

What may appear to be neglect is often preparation for a more rapt and loving attention.
On the subject of my own recent and interposing preparations, I can say that I have probably desired other things more deeply, but in the span of my life I have never actually needed any circumstance or experience more direly. Come Friday I'll know if I am on a...

It's been, what, roughly two months since I updated my journal, looked at the forums, or posted a meaningful comment in anyone's journal?
Admitting your addiction is the first step on the road to recovery, but who ever said I wanted to recover?
Ahhh, crapulence, how I <3 thee.

My whole journal? I'm humbled.
Thanks.
Thanks.
It begins! If anyone needs me for the next thousand hours or so, I can be reached on Deathwing in Mountain, c/o the drunken, embittered dwarven hunter, Bliv.

hey thanks for the sweet comment
So, I just realized that I apparently have a marked taste for women with straight, shortish, jet-black and/or hot-pink hair. Not terribly strange, perhaps, but slightly so when you consider my long, golden blonde locks.
I wonder if that means something...

oh, goodness, no. i used to be a big anime fan but i think i grew out of it... i am definitely an anime snob now, and i find most north american animation pretty inane and badly-done. i watch family guy, though. i liked undergrads when it was on, and a few other funny animated shows during my staying-up-late-smoking-pot-and-watching-cartoons days (which are, thankfully, very over). i need to get back into comics. it's such an expensive habit, though. more expensive than smoking.
posh:
hahaha. he's only around 5 months! still a baby cat!
i think teletoon is our version the cartoon network. or it is exactly the same but with a different name. every night from 11:30 i tune in.
family guy -> futurama -> home movies -> undergrads.
i'm really not that small! the picture has to be deceiving. or something.
short straight black hair is hot.

I'm sorry you didn't get to know Pav better. I'm sorry the world didn't get to know Pav better; he had a lot to offer it. But I guess we're just not that lucky.
Sorry to hear about your feline friend. I don't know what I'd do without my cats. They make my life so much more tolerable. Guess it will make it easier to go if you decide to get outta Buckeye land.
Life here is good. Been dating a woman in San Francisco and spending a lot more time in the city...
