so i went to a testing session for a new job today. i feel pretty confident i'll get called back in for an interview. i can't say that i'm thrilled with the idea of another customer service job, but it would be a paycheck where i'm getting none at the moment.
the tests are fundamentally all the same- reading comp, math, personality inventory. i also took a data entry test. these things are so easy and mind-numbing that i think the primary purpose is to weed out anyone who doesn't want the job bad enough to sit through four hours of this crap.
i think the room we tested in was possibly the most uncomfortable room i have ever been in. all the chairs were too high to fit under the tables. the tables were so low that i had to double over to reach the paper. top that off with the fact that in florida, when the temperature drops under 60 degrees in the morning, just about every office building in town is running the heater. so yes, it was very warm in the room. ironically, during the warmer days, most buildings have the a/c blasting to below-60 temperatures. go figure.
the moral of the story is that i wish to god i had finished my bachelor's. i am finally gonna go back in the summer. imagine my surprise at finding that tuition at unf has doubled since i last attended a state university.
fortunately, every job for which i've applied offers tuition reimbursement.
no more to report at the moment.
