the search for gainful employment continues. i had an interview on tues, and i feel i fucked it up royally. training starts monday and i have yet to receive a call. that would be a big fuckin' hint.
i am finally starting to box up and move my personal effects from my apartment to the girl's. so far, i managed to get the majority of the stuff i own in only 8 boxes and a laundry bag full of clothes. simplification is going well. i anticipate only a few more box-loads of stuff before i get to the electronics (tv, home theater shit and my desktop pc). not too shabby. my furniture will be distributed amongst family members in need of it.
i threw out so much shit. it felt really liberating and depressing at the same time. it was liberating due to my ability to just dispose of what i didn't absolutely need or want to keep- depressing due to the fact i allowed my life to become so cluttered with all this crap i had accumulated. but it's all gone now.
the second depressing thing i discovered is that there apparently was a leak or something in my spare bedroom, causing some water damage and mold to ruin all of my vinyl LPs. that sucks. i didn't have a huge collection, but i did have both the clash's first record(u.s. version) and "london calling." i had devo's "new traditionalists" and "oh no! it's devo!" as well. all were destroyed, gone forever. oh well- it's just stuff, right? right?
aside from the tragedy of lost vinyl, here's to clean slates and fresh starts.
cheers.
