Well things were, I repeat, were looking pretty good. I had taken the county caseworker civil service exam and rocked it. I was 3rd on the list of 259 people. 255 did worse than me, 1 did the same and 2 did better. That is pretty damn good and I was surprised. I had dropped 10lbs in 3 weeks, I was getting back into shape, I had quit drinking and things were just going decently.
Then came Sunday. It started with a stomach ache, which by Monday morning was unbearable pain. Turns out I had appendicitis and had to have an emergency appendectomy. I spent 2 days in the hospital because when they went in there it turns out my peritoneum had enveloped by appendix and created a little sack for it. The surgeon said he had never seen that in 19 years and had called other doctors in to look at it. So it made things rougher.
I am home now and on pain meds. The big problem is that I don't have insurance. Yes. No insurance. So I had what is probably over $20k in medical bills and no insurance. Not sure how all of this will work out or what will happen but I am not looking forward to it at all.
I have had insurance since I was 19, now the first time I don't have it and this shit happens. It couldn't have happened any other time. Fuck.
I am not happy at all.
