So, I'm back to doing some serious work on my short film "Retirement". I'm slowly putting the crew together, and if everything works out, this will be the largest crew I've ever worked with.
If you've seen my somewhat redundant photos over the past week, you know I've been working on one my sets (a newsroom), and although there are still a few pieces left to add, it's damn near done, and it looks like my plan to use greenscreen just might work.
Oh, and I finally found the main theme for all of the stalking/serial killing scenes, so I'm pretty damn happy about that. I wish I could incorporate this creepy video in somewhere, but I'll just have to settle for the music.
And now the complaining...
The plan to have a competition where people submit videos to us, and we use the best ones as TV broadcasts in the film failed, miserably. We didn't even get one submission.
Now I've got a bit more work ahead of me, as I have to create at least 3 small snippets of TV programming so that we have something to use in the film (I have some old shorts, but they're so terrible, I fear they would ruin the quality of the film. I know, it's ridiculous, but that's just who I am).
So I've got 2 months to write, plan, shoot, and edit all three of these videos so that they're ready to go by the time we start making the actual film.
All in all, it works pretty well; I've been itching to do some work outside of set/camera/lighting tests anyway.
