I've just been thinking about lately how we (meaning) humans interact. I was or am still a communications major. The whole internet chat/message board thing as being a major form of communication now a days.
I feel like we are losing the ability to interact just with people on an interpersonel level. Is this sounding like an essay topic, possibly (to bad i got kicked out of school now that im getting all these ideas that would have been useful last year.)
My feeling is that many people replace physical interaction, with the internet and phone. Dont get me wrong the internet and phone are very good things, but there are some people who only interact through these means. I know not everybody but i also know there are people out there who are like this ( i know because i was one of them for a while).
The internet can be this "safe place" were no one can really judge you by certain superficial criteria's. Being on the internet also gives you the ability to be whoever you want to be, some people role play and transmit(i'm thinking of a different word but can't think of it). They transmit this type of pseudo persona that maybe them or may be apart of them, who knows....
I think it is important to actually meet the people you have a strong connection with that you have meet on the internet. I realize a lot of people do this anyways, but i think still a lot of people just hide within the safety of internet.
Internet as being a form of communication has many pros and cons. But it does allow you to meet people from all over, and is a good step in developing very important relationships.
Yawwwwnnn, end transmission.

I don't think the internet relaces interpersonal communication in most cases. In fact, I think it enables many people who may not otherwise be that social to find out how to talk to other people. That leads to finding out a lot about yourself, etc. Basically, it can be a prep for real life for those who may not have much going on irl in the first place. And for those who are already rather sociable, it's just another place to hang out; no harm done.
Talk to you again soon
