I have to say, that this weekend was probably my most enjoyable birthday I've had.
Went down to Pike Place with the hubs, had a fantastic lunch, got myself a tiger butter caramel apple and it was sunny out so I was happy as a clam.
Then it got even better because I took out the motorcycle for a refresher spin. I am more than ready to make my 5 minute commute to work a bit longer by riding in when it's not raining.
Then I had all my friends meet me at my favorite local skeeze bar, because I wanted some skeeze and karaoke for my birthday. And I made the best decision ever and told them all if they wanted to buy me a shot they had to sing a song. I did however let them buy me margaritas instead. I think I had somewhere around 6 or 7 in total. And I was at the perfect level of drunk. Woke up the next morning (my actual birthday) feeling perfect. Although I did have to wonder about the guy that told me he was impressed by my rapping. I "rapped" I'm on a Boat and Money Maker and I don't know if he was being sarcastic or serious. The super drunk guy who was impressed by my Led Zeppelin singing I did believe however. He was singing along with me haha.
Although I did run into a girl I know and did the polite thing by saying hello and accepting a hug. I really don't like her at all but wasn't about to cause a scene. She works in the aquatics world as well and I'd rather not make things awkward. It's surprising for as much of a bitch as I am that I can filter myself and pretend to be friendly with people I dislike.
Sunday was spent with my mom and one of my good friends riding horses. I'm so emotionally torn about my barn situation and it's starting to eat me alive. But I ignored it yesterday in favor of enjoying the sunshine.
Then I got to have dinner with the hubs and all of his family that live close. It was my niece's birthday yesterday and my sister-in-law wanted to throw a big get together. It has been kind of weird for me, because their family is large and loud and has a myriad of nuances to keep track of. My family is quiet and my generation of the family only does crazy shit when parents and grandparents aren't there.
But now I have to go get my driver's license updated. Blarg. I'm hoping to haul my ass out of bed early enough tomorrow that I can get it done quickly and painlessly.
And in other good news I'm poised to submit the last set I shot with @taylerchristine! I just need to gather the paperwork that goes along with it. As soon as it *hopefully* goes into member review I will post a preview or two. :D
