I am remiss on this whole internet updating thing. This weekend went by in a blur.
Friday night I put on a tight little number, walked through the bad part of town to get to a coworker's goodbye party (she's moving to Mexico!). I had a few drinks with my work partner, and ended up walking home with he and his best friend while his best friend mourned my lesbianity.

I went to bed at 5am.
Saturday, I got up at 11 am, and it was hot out. Very hot. Gonna get up to 95 degrees hot. Why is this happening in September after such a cold cold summer?
But I still needed to go for a run....so I headed to Forest Park, where it's a little cooler at least.

Forest Park. It's beautiful. And hilly. And so far from my house that I've actually run my 5k just getting there and back. So really, I ran more than a 10k, in the faux summer heat, up hills and through the dirt and across uneven ground.
And the next day? I was so tired I slept in again.
But then I got up and I ran the same run. Only I went even farther.
Total win.
The rest of the weekend disappeared. I had a good book to read.

I gotta say I felt a little silly picking this book up, like it makes me the kind of hoity bitch who would read along with a talkshow book club or something.
But youguys? This book was really good.
It took me about three weeks to read a 100 page Virginia Woolf novel.
And it took me three days to read this 500+ page book.
Youguys. I didn't even want to get on the internet. Ilovedthisbook.
So there's a weekend gone. Mysteriously vanished.
Got up, ran a 5k, went to work for 13 hours straight.
And now that I've gotten home and I should be rushing right to bed, I went online, and signed up to run a half marathon.
Race for the Roses.

The first race I ever ran was the Race for the Roses 5k. So it's nicely symmetrical that it'll also be my first halfmare.
Halfmare.
That sounds a lot like nightmare, doesn't it?
Sooo I'm keeping up with this whole fitness thing.
Who wants to bug me about query letters?
