I found God in myself
& I love her/I fiercely
-Ntozake Shange
What better place to find God than within ourselves! It is only when we really know ourselves and affirm ourselves for who we are that we become aware of the devinity that we share with all things. We are part of the hologram....we ARE the hologram. When we estrange ourselves from ourselves, we also then lose contact with that which is beyond ourselves.
To know "God" and to love her fiercely is to love ourselves. Loving God is not loving the selfcentered "God" of confusion. It is loving the God that is one, that is within us, and beyond us. It is loving God as we understand God.
Contact with God is so simple, and we make it so difficult.
-Today's post is perfect. I am not a religious person in the least. I believe in a connection of the universe and the things in it. We possess the ability to accomplish anything., but we lose faith in ourselves because we allow other people opinions to become our own.
This is a problem I still struggle with to this day....and it leads to a distored sense of self.
Unfortunately I can't find the documentary I watched on Netflix.
But it hits on many thing I can mentally get behind. I feel as humans, our accountability is due to those we are on this wonderful planet with. We are all here together, so we need to stop worrying about this fictional after life we are force fed...and work together toward a better existence for all while we are here.
I don't know about you...but I would rather my current days be brighter...than those I'm told I could get after I die.
-sorry for a religious(ish) rant...but it was on my mind
I hope you all have a glorious Saunday!
