I'm on the hunt for a new pair of boots. I thought my docs would be *the* boots for me, but its not working out. I mean, they're real enough (I can work and do manly like things in them), they're made from a decent cut of leather, and they're sufficiently stompy... but they're just not quite the boot I'm hoping for.

I had this one pair that I stole from my then girlfriend (now wife). They were PERFECT! They were stompy, but not clunky. Bouncy, but not flouncy. They looked totally grrrrr without being obtrusive if I had to work in the mud. Basically, they were perfect.

But they weren't leather.

and because they wore out, quickly.
I bought a new pair.
They wore out even faster.

I wore them out so badly the sole completely flopped off in one step one day.

I just couldn't justify buying another pair with them dying so quickly.
Also, Hot Topic discontinued them mad

So I settled for knee-high Doc Martins. *sigh* so classic.
But they're not quite what I need. The leather is beautiful, but they're just not bouncy enough.

So, fellow beautiful freaks... any suggestions?

Have you considered rain boots? These:

zappos

are adorable, in may colors, and not pricey. They won't last, but then you can just get more. I found these by going to zappos and searching 'bouncy boots'.

I dunno what you need in bounciness, but I like military style boots, because they are easy on&off and very comfy. The SeaVees combat boot or the Matisse Middletons are cool booties. If you search "military boots" on Z you may find some good stuff. Plus, you have 1 full year to return them, and they ship free.
I don't work for them, btw, I just like 'em.
