Why flies?
Okay, whether one is a biologist or a theologian, one has to accept that what exists, exists for a reason. As a biologist, I can see that bacteria must exist so that dead things decompose. Prey must exist so that predators can live. Predators must exist so that prey do not multiply beyond need, and so that bacteria have something to eat (when the predators die). But still...
Why flies? Wasn't there something else that could fill this ecological niche without being quite so annoying?
